Ben Lawers from above Kenmore
There are some nice hillside walks above Kenmore with, as you can see, commanding views over Loch Tay.
Glen Finglas
Glen Finglas is an area of broadleaf forest owned by the Woodland Trust. There is a steep climb up through the forest following which the path goes for miles across open moorland.
Applecross Beach
A vessel off the coast at Applecross, with an interesting view of the beach at low tide.
Eilean Donan Castle
Seen regularly on calendars and shortbread tins, but still stunning!
Clashnessie
This delightful beach is at the northwest corner of the Assynt peninsula, on the very scenic coastal road from Lochinver to Kylesku.
Edinburgh Castle
This view looking up to the castle is rather spoiled by the scaffolding supporting the seating for the Royal Military Tatoo.
Falls of Clyde
The Falls of Clyde is a very interesting park just upstream from New Lanark, with extensive walks along the river bank and opportunities for watching wildlife.
Glen Dochart
The River Dochart between Killin and Crianlarich.
Assynt in the cloud
One of our favourite pictures showing typical Scottish scenery in typical Scottish weather. Don't worry, though, it'll be sunny again in 10 minutes!
The Cowal Peninsula
This is one of the many arms of the Clyde estuary cutting into the Cowal Peninsula.
Smoke over Killin
Killin is an excellent base for a holiday. It is on Loch Tay, in the mountains, and less than an hour's drive from Glencoe and the sea.
Waterfall in Glen Etive
Glen Etive is a turning off to the left just before you reach the top of Glencoe (when travelling west). It is overshadowed by Buachaille Etive Mor, and is a great place for a walk along a relatively flat road. There are some beautiful waterfalls as well.
